University of Utah J Willard Marriott Library Ski Archives

The Alf Engen Ski Museum Foundation and The University of Utah J Willard Marriott Library Ski Archives work closely together to preserve the rich history of skiing in Utah and the Intermountain region.  Established in 1989, the Ski Archives is the intellectual heart of the Engen museum.  By design, the museum is the public arm for educating visitors and displaying the history of skiing in the Intermountain region.  The historic support for the museum comes through the collections gathered, organized, and housed at the J Willard Marriott Library at the University of Utah.  These collections include personal scrapbooks, correspondence, diaries, photographs, oral history interviews, film and other historical documents.

The unique partnership between the Ski Archives and the Alf Engen Ski Museum  Foundation administers the Will and Jean Pickett Intermountain Ski Hall of Fame. This partnership finds the Ski Archives responsible for the honoree selection process and oversight of a selection committee is established specifically for that process.  The museum's responsibility includes providing the means to house the Hall that reflects the prestige of the award and brings honor and acclaim to the honorees.
